Personal Statement

 This post shows my first and final draft of my personal statement. This is a document used when applying to university through UCAS and may also be required in apprenticeships or jobs. I used class resources which showed me how to structure my statement and what should go into each paragraphs content. I attended two UCAS workshops in college in which my work was checked by three lecturers and I made adaptions according to their advice. The final version is currently with UCAS and I am happy with the outcome and believe I have included all necessary information about myself and my works. One occurring issue that did crop up several times was the 4000 character limit and line limit. I was under the character count but it remained over the maximum amount of lines. I didn't want to strip down the statement anymore and so removed a paragraph line between the 3rd and 4th paragraph which allowed me to submit it according to both the word and line count.  First draft before lecturer ...

Additional Project: Lights Out Halloween parade

 This is the first of my finished edits for the 'Lights out' Halloween parade in Sunderland that took place on 29/10/2021. This video uses music that would be classed as copyrighted. I felt like this was the best song to do the edit to and I can use it as part of a portfolio rather than making money from it. In the video, I use multiple skills that I have learned in first year such as match on beat, multiple transitions, slow motion etc. I believe I'm learning how to use Premiere Pro in a professional way as I can navigate it with ease now. I also used Adobe Audition on this project to create the soundtrack. I liked the song but the intro and first verse were too long and so I cut the intro and half of the first verse in a way that sounded quite seamless. My previous knowledge of music (at GCSE level) allowed me to re-listen to the song and work out exactly where the vocals and new bars should come in, and used this in my own version of the song.
